Big night at the judo club
Tonight, 3X world champion Kosei Inoue came to visit your judo club. Nate and Ben, you watched in amazement as he threw your many black belt teachers across the mat.

Greek Gods in the Produce Aisle
Mom and the boys were at the grocery store. Nate saw a box of pomegranates and remarked, "Hey Mom, that's what Persefone ate that made her stay in the Underworld with Hades." Ben chimed in,"His dog Cerberus keeps her there." Needless to say we got a few looks from the shoppers around us...but they were right! Mom was so proud!
Faces
In yoga class, the boys drew faces representing different feelings. Ben's is on top and Nate's is on bottom. Although Ben may have added more visual details, Nate included a description of when he feels each of these feelings...
Happy – my birthday
Sad - when I fall off my bike
Angry – when things don't work
Afraid – first day of school
Sleepy – when it is bed time
Hot – when it is sunny

East Coast Judo Championships - Newark, NJ
Nate, we're so proud of you! You went 1-1 today to win the silver medal in the 4-6 heavyweight class. Once again, the Georgian boy found a way to knock you off balance, but we know you'll prevail next time! (Your yoga training seems to be helpful as you spent a while in headstand during the warm-up period).

No more training wheels for Nate
The first time Nate tried riding his bike without training wheels was on Memorial Day weekend. It went about how you would expect a first try to go. For the rest of the summer the bike sat in the garage with no interest from Nate in riding it again. Then, out of the blue, on Labor Day (and Dad's birthday), Nate declared that he wanted to ride his bike. Dad and Nate went to the empty parking lot at Orange Avenue School to give it a try. After about a half hour of practice with Dad running along side of him, Nate decided he would try on his own. When Mom and Ben came to see the progress, they were amazed at what they found…

Baseball campers @ Somerset Patriots
Nate, you had a great time with your fellow campers at your first pro (AAA-ish) baseball game. You had a great time singing "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" with your fellow campers in the 7th inning and also getting autographs before the game. Each time a player signed your ball - you went and signed NATE as well. Hilarious!
