Growing up Mom was always terrified of the flying monkeys from the Wizard of Oz. When the boys were going to watch the movie for the first time, Mom prepared them for seeing these creatures. At their first appearance in the movie, the boys started laughing hysterically that anyone could be afraid of such fake looking things. I guess the movie technology that the boys are used to has made the monkeys comic relief instead of nightmare inducing horror...although Mom still doesn't like them.
