He served with General Armistead until he surrendered at Appomattox on 4-9-1865 with General Robert E. Lee. On a family reunion visit to Cleveland County, Dad recalls reading a great many tombstones from men in your direct lineage who were all killed at the Battle of Malvern Hill.
